All Felixstowe and Suffolk residents born before the 5 April 1950 are entitled to a “National Pass” for free travel on local bus routes between 09:30 and 23:00 Mondays to Fridays and at anytime at weekends, Public & Bank Holidays.
All Felixstowe and Suffolk residents born after the 5 April 1950 are entitled to a “National Bus” when they reach the national pensionable age of women born on5 April 1950.
Disabled residents of Felixstowe and Suffolk are eligible for a disabled person's National Pass” providing they are registered as being disabled in the following categories
• Blind or partially sighted
• Profoundly or severely deaf
• Without speech
• Have a disability, or have suffered an injury, which has a substantial and long-term effect on the ability to walk
• Do not have arms or have long-term loss of the use of both arms
• Have a learning disability
• If a driving licence application is refused under section 92 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 (physical fitness).
(This do not included “Drink or Drug Driving” offences)

|“National Bus Pass” application forms can be obtained from any “Suffolk County or District Council Offices” and Felixstowe Library. |

All completed application forms are required to be present with a passport size photograph of the applicant and with proof that the applicant is entitled to hold a “National Bus Pass”
|“National Bus Pass” can only be used on “Local Bus Routes” in England (including London) after 09:30 Mondays to Fridays until 23:00 Mondays to Friday. Not valid for travel in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. |
Can be used “Anytime” at weekends, Public and Bank Holidays.
Travelling before 09:30 and after 23:00 Mondays to Fridays. A full adult fare must be paid to travel. In certain areas of England (which do not include Suffolk) a “Concessionary Fare” may be available upon showing a “National Bus Pass” to the driver.
“National Bus Pass” cannot be used on “National Express”, “Airport by Coach” and other express coach services. “National Express” offers a discount to “National Bus Pass Holders” if the pass is shown when buying a ticket.
“National Bus Pass” cannot be used on “Sightseeing Tours” (including Felixstowe Open Top Bus Tour” but discounts are often available on presenting a “National Bus Pass”
|Using The “National Pass”|
|When boarding the bus show the “National Bus Pass” to the driver. He may ask you to swipe the pass in a card reader or alternately issue you with a “zero fare” ticket|
|Suffolk County Council Endeavour Card|
|The Endeavour Smartcard is available free for all 16-19 year olds living in the Felixstowe area. Endeavour card holders are entitled to 25% discount on all adult single and return bus fares with no travel restrictions on services operated by First, Ipswich Buses & Suffolk Norse Cards can be used for cashless payment as with the "London Oyster Card" providing there is sufficient credit on the card. |
